Maun is an essential part of the experience of going on safari in northern Botswana. It is the country's gateway to the north, especially to and from the Okavango Delta. It is perfectly set up to enhance your safari experience, from good restaurants, accommodations and shops, to the relaxed setting along the banks of the Thamalakane River.

Chobe Riverfront

Chobe Riverfront is a real safari treat because you're almost guaranteed some kind of wildlife encounter. The big elephants of Chobe National Park are always close by, but the real excitement happens when prey comes down to drink at the same time as the predators; lions are especially common here. Watch also for hippos and crocs in the water.
